Entropy
Construct Definition
Entropy refers to the fundamental behaviour of energy and matter in terms of its tendency toward increasing disorder (death/decay of energy and matter). This is one of our most fundamental laws of physics and can be explained by the loss of heat/energy, of all matter in the universe. This is viewed as an irreversible process, as it cannot occur without external agency. Energy is thus transferred, but never really created (1st Law of thermodynamics).
Business Implication
Seen from an organisational viewpoint, this physical law implies that the tendency toward disorder suggest constant organisational renewal and inventiveness with respect to our business models, operations, strategies, etc.
